2nd NDGs:: Enabulele Tasks Edo Athletes, Coaches On High Performance As Team Edo Moves To Camp

In their determination and commitment to ensuring adequate preparation and superb delivery at the second Niger Delta Games, the host state Edo State Sports Commission on Sunday moved their athletes for the Games to camp as planned.

As at 12 pm on Sunday, February 8,2026, the Edo State Sports Commission boss Hon Amadin Desmond Enabulele and him management team involving the permanent Secretary Mrs A.P Efe Amenze,the Executive Director, Sports Development and Operations Mrs Sabina Chikere, Director Sports Development and Operations Pastor Osayomore Aghahowa and other senior officials were already at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium to ensure that the Niger Delta Games bound athletes and coaches moved into close comping as scheduled.

The honourable chairman of the commission Amadin went to the GRA camp to see for himself how things are in the camp.

Hon Amadin Enabulele in his remark at the camp said that the camp was befitting and good. He charged the team to remain disciplined and focused.

” I’m here to ensure that all the Athletes and officials for the Niger Delta Games are here and comfortable. This place is good and I don’t think anyone will have anything to complain about. I will be here everyday to see you people. On Tuesday,we are officially declaring the camp open and ready for the Niger Delta Games in Benin” . No stone should be left unturned as we host the rest of Niger Deltans”, He said.

Edo State Sports Commission team, Wednesday,formally commenced trials of Athletes for final selection to the second edition of the Niger Delta Sports Festival scheduled to hold from 20th -27th of February,2026.

The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, commended the technical team and athletes for their commitments and patriotism so far, particularly on the outcome of the Local Government Areas trials exercise which has produced future talents

The Edo State Sports Commission boss who visited Akiko-Edo,Auchi,Uromi and Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Areas centers for the athletes’trials, expressed satisfaction with the turn out of Athletes and enthusiasts at various centers and
declared that the state is fully ready for the regional sports fiesta.

Hon Enabulele, who is incidentally the Chairman of the state Liaison Committee reaffirmed that Edo is ready to host and also going to give the best of performance. ” We have no excuse. No compromise. As hosts,we should be ready to give our very best in everything. On Tuesday, I am coming with the full management team to address you but remain disciplined and hardworking throughout your stay in this place. If there is any issues,call me.” He encouraged the athletes and coaches.

Hon Amadin Enabulele expressed confidence in Edo State’s capacity to host the 2026 Niger Delta Games in Benin, and win.

“We are fully prepared to host the rest of Niger Delta region and we are going to play by the rules of the games set by the organisers of the games. The trials started last week and we have made tremendous progress. I’m happy with the way things are going and I think we are ready to host the rest of the Niger Delta again after this second edition. Infrastructure are being upgraded and enthusiasm building,so we are ready and happy to host now and again.” Enabulele enthused.
